It is a truth universally acknowledged that a rainy day becomes much cheerier when one is in possession of a turquoise umbrella.

Self-Portrait Challenge

So my friend, Bethany, was having a challenge of sorts and I decided to give it a try. Below is an 'About Me' with facts and such that you might not have known about this blog's authoress. :)

Hi y'all! My name is Erin Lynne and I am a happy G.R.I.T.S. (Girl Raised in the South).

I'm nineteen almost twenty.

I love the Lord, my amazing family, and my wonderful friends.

I'm the eldest of six and have an identical twin sister. (Most of my longtime readers probably know all of this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to repeat.)

You also probably already know that I love photography, writing, reading, and graphic design, so I won't reiterate that I love photography, writing, reading, and graphic design. This would only bore you, I'm sure, and take up needless post space. ;)

I live deep in the heart of South Georgia (aka The Land of Many Pines). We're known for slow drawling accents, peaches, peanuts, wide open pastures, cornfields, cotton fields, pigweed, cows, John Deer tractors, magnolias, and jasmine. Mmmm.

We also boast many gnats, mosquitoes, and typically only two seasons a year (summer and winter). Honestly, it's usually only 'sticky, sweaty, go play under the sprinkler' hot or 'teeth chattering, huddle by the heater, put on twelve layers of clothing' cold...that's just how we roll.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Some randomly random facts about me:

--I love the color turquoise! Hmmm, for some odd reason, I think you likely have already gathered that...

--For the life of me, I can't become an organized person on a schedule. My twin sister lives by one. She THRIVES on a scheduled life. I've tried, I really have. But the general outcome isn't pretty. (Imagine Erin clutching her throat, falling on the floor, and lying there with her mouth hanging open) It's that bad.  In my case, it seems to suffocate creativity. Yeah, that's it.

On a similar note, I'm an awesome procrastinator.

--I am a self-professed, obsessed smiley face user.  It's really handy. Examples? "Oh no, that line in that email might sound like I'm being sarcastic or something." Slap a smiley face beside it. Or "Hmmm, this sentence in this post sounds...cold." Slap a winking smiley face beside it. Perfect.

--Naive is my middle name. I can definitely be that way about some things. Okay, a lot of things.

--I like watching old westerns. Especially the ones with John Wayne. *sighs*

--I agree with folks that the 'Papyrus' font is overused, overdone, and overrated. And yet I love it and you'll notice that it is my header font because I love it. :)

--My name is also another name for Ireland. Hence, I have an affinity for listening to Irish ballads.... I mean, how can you not love listening to a bunch of guys singing, "Whether on the scaffold high or the battlefield we die, what's it matter when for Erin dear we fall?" *awww*

Wait, what did you say? Oh, sure, sure, I know they're actually singing about Ireland. I'm certainly not one to lose touch with reality and think that these chivalrous guys are singing about me--okay, you've got to be quiet. This is the final chorus and I want to hear them say my name. ;)

--I think my mind is just about made up of 85% songs (well, maybe not quite that much, but you get the idea). Hymns, oldies, Disney songs, country songs, you name it...it's stored up there to pull out whenever a family member says something that remotely sounds like a familiar lyric. Rarely fails, I'll burst into song.

--The 23rd Psalm is one of my absolute favorite chapters in the whole Bible.

--Although I would be hard-pressed to leave South Georgia for a very long time, I would love to travel sometime. Colorado, Guam, and Australia are a few places I would like to visit in the future.

--I'm not a big talker (at least not in public ;)) but I enjoy observing people and watching them interact. Maybe that's the writer coming out.
And that is all. Hope that you have had a blessed weekend! I know I did. :)

Have a wonderful day!
