Wait! Don't leave! I was only teasing!! :OD We most certainly did not find these, ahem, babies in our chicken coop...no-sir-ee! Would anyone like to take a guess as to what they are? Come on now, you see their relatives on the side of the road eating...lunch all the time. Y'know, their diet consists of opossums, deer, skunks, etc. Oh, yes, they also have stomachs of iron! :O
Give up? Well, these precious little chicks are...BABY TURKEY BUZZARDS! I'm sure now you just want to scoop these tiny bundles of snowy white feathers into your loving arms, huh? And no, I'm not teasing this time. These guys are really and truly baby turkey buzzards that we saw yesterday on our Memorial Day excursion.
A member of our church has an old house (known as "The Ghost House") on his property. Every year, a mama turkey buzzard returns to roost there and lay two li'l white eggs. While we've been to see them several times over the years, this year was probably the last as the house is quickly deteriorating. Guess mommy buzzard will have to find a new place for her nursery!
Let me tell you one thing: If you ever go see baby buzzards, hold your breath 'cause they don't smell like rose-scented perfume. And for little fellas, they sure can hiss...other than this, though, they are charming, amiable sweeties. Don't you want to adopt a baby buzzard today? :OD

lol...they are kind of scary looking! But they are so ugly that they are almost cute. If you know what I mean! =)
LOL Yes, I think I know what you mean! :OD Although I really feel that they'd be a whole lot cuter if they didn't smell quite so bad! ;)
Awww...I'm torn between wanting to scoop 'em up and kiss their fuzzy heads and freaking out if one of them looked me in the eye. :D They look like dodo birds to me, poor things. LOL
*smile* Y'know, I never thought about that, Bailey, but you're right...they do look like li'l dodo birds! lol:OD
LOL... I'm like... "gross". But they make a great photo! I think of all birds, these are my LEAST favorite. If like, we photography impaired people (like me-- at least with animals, :P) could put in orders for talented photographers like you, I'd ask for a photo of a Bald Eagle or a Magpie... Yeah, a Magpie! :D They're my FAVORITE! :D ;) LOL Lovely pictures! Hugs!
Thanks, Lizzy!
Haha...a magpie, huh? LOL I'll have remember that! :OD Hugs to you too! ")
